Corey Brewer, (born March 5, 1986 in Portland, Tennessee) was the starting
Small Forward for the Florida Gators men's basketball team which won both the
2006 and 2007 NCAA Men's Division Basketball Tournaments, as well as the 2006
and 2007 SEC Tournament. He was named Most Outstanding Player of the 2007
tournament.
In June 2007, Corey was a first-round draft pick for the NBA's Minnesota
Timberwolves. Congratulations, Corey!
Brewer is 6'9" and weighs 185 lbs. He is recognized as a versatile defender
because of his length and athleticism. He has excellent ball-handling skills and
attacks the hoop very well on offense. He recognizes his role as the member of a
team and will be an asset for whomever and with whomever he plays.
Corey attended Portland High School in Portland, Tennessee, where he was named a
McDonald's All American in his senior year. He averaged 29.4 points and 12.8
rebounds a game his final season.
